On May 22 and 23, Málaga will become the epicenter of innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation at the “Digital and Social Blue Economy: Sustainable Transition and Innovation Opportunities” event. Organised under the BLUEDOTS project, this two-day transnational capacity-building event is designed to foster digital transformation, sustainability, and social innovation within the blue economy sector.
With a dynamic and practical program, the event will bring together representatives from cooperatives, SMEs, public and private institutions, as well as experts in technology and sustainability, to explore the opportunities that digitalization offers in key blue economy sectors such as fishing, coastal tourism, and marine biotechnology.
Participants will have the chance to exchange knowledge with international experts, integrate digital-social innovation principles into their operations, and take part in practical workshops and networking sessions. The agenda also includes an inspiring boat visit in Fuengirola to learn about sustainable practices firsthand.
As part of this initiative, Bluedots has also launched an Open Call for Proposals to provide financial support for Social Economy SMEs and enabling organisations in the blue sector across Europe. Selected participants will receive up to €800 per organisation to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs.
