Organised in the framework of the PARI project (Paths for Rural Innovation), this two-hour online session presents the three local plans developed under PARI and asks a practical question: why do Clusters of Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEIs) matter for resilient territorial development, and what conditions allow them to last.
Three territories open the discussion with their own approach. Navarra (Spain) sets out its key priorities, rural innovation pathways and community engagement work. Östergötland (Sweden) covers territorial cooperation, social economy mobilisation and ecological transition. Torres Vedras (Portugal) presents local resilience strategies, multi-actor governance and rural-urban linkages.
A cross-territorial synthesis then draws out what the three have in common — stakeholder engagement strategies, participatory governance models, and how territorial initiatives hold up when political majorities change. The session closes with policy recommendations addressed to three levels: local authorities building enabling environments for CSEIs, regional and national policymakers designing long-term support frameworks, and EU-level actors working on scaling pathways, funding instruments and cross-territorial cooperation.
Half an hour is reserved for open dialogue with participants.
