RAISE Alliance
We support the development of the sustainable economy, entrepreneurship, and social innovation worldwide. In the past decade, we reached a transformation tipping point, where complex and ever-changing contexts demand innovative, evidence-based solutions. Research is more important than ever for strategic choices.
Global research networks suggest partnering brings multiple benefits, yet existing alliances often focus on specific projects, limiting scope and impact. There has been no alliance directly addressing the variety of challenges in advancing research for sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Alliance is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen research and innovation in shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economy. It addresses the critical gap in long-term, cross-sectoral collaboration, moving beyond single-project approaches to build lasting partnerships that drive systemic impact.
We bring together research institutions, policy actors, technical bodies, social economy organisations, and other key stakeholders to:
- Co-produce knowledge and public goods that advance sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation
- Align research priorities with real-world needs for practical, scalable solutions
- Facilitate mutual learning and knowledge exchange across sectors and regions
- Influence policy and investment strategies at local, national, European, and global levels
Through this cross-sectoral approach, the Alliance creates a unique environment where multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity thrive, enabling transformative innovation to tackle complex challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, and demographic shifts.
Building on decades of experience and partnerships with over 30 organisations worldwide, the Alliance continues to expand its network, inviting:
- Research and scientific institutions
- Research and development entities
- Policy and public sector actors
- Researchers, research sponsors, and research alliances
- Organisations committed to sustainable innovation
Our purpose is to strengthen the relevance and impact of research and innovation for sustainable entrepreneurship, both internally—supporting members, partners, and sponsors—and externally, engaging policy, technical, and investment communities to produce public goods that benefit society at large.
The initiative is guided by a shared recognition of:
- The importance of sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation in improving quality of life and fostering resilient ecosystems
- The need for enhanced cooperation and joint action across sectors
- The value of long-term partnerships that drive collective progress
Together, the Alliance empowers its members to respond to global challenges and create transformative, socially and environmentally impactful solutions.

Alliance for Social and Solidarity Economy in the Western Balkans
This alliance is a collaborative platform inspired by previous regional initiatives within the Diesis Network. Its purpose is to strengthen cooperation, innovation, and impact across the social economy sector in the Western Balkans.
Building on projects such as WB SEA, YDEAS, and SEE West—and informed by the YDEAS Green Paper—the Alliance is a structured yet flexible space for stakeholders to connect and collaborate. It promotes horizontal cooperation, cross-sector partnerships, joint advocacy, research, and knowledge exchange through events, innovation labs, and networking activities.
It operates independently while remaining connected to the Diesis Network, serving as a bridge between regional actors and the wider ecosystem. Guided by principles of synergy, cooperation, and sustainability, the Alliance seeks to cultivate a dynamic and collaborative regional ecosystem. Stakeholder input and engagement are essential at this stage to refine the platform’s structure and ensure its successful development and long-term impact.
