“The 2028–2034 EU programming period and the future of Italy’s Third Sector” is an online meeting organised by Fondazione Cariplo for Italian Third Sector organisations preparing to access EU funding.
As negotiations on the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework enter a decisive phase, speakers working at European, national and regional levels will look at the main changes ahead. These include the reduction from 52 to 16 programmes, the new single fund with national and regional partnership plans, social spending targets and the future of ESF+ and the social economy. The meeting also examines how institutional expectations towards the sector are shifting and why 2026–2027 should be used as a preparation phase. It is the third session in the training path linked to Cariplo’s co-financing instrument for EU projects, run with the BEEAgency of Fondazione Triulza.
Gianluca Pastorelli, Executive President of Diesis Network, will speak on European social economy networks. He will cover the skills and organisational models the next cycle will require and how networks are positioning themselves. The session is moderated by Giuseppe Guerini, President of Cooperatives Europe, and includes a keynote by Brigitte Fellahi-Brognaux, Head of the Social and Inclusive Entrepreneurship Unit at DG EMPL.
The meeting takes place on Zoom on 1 October, from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST. It will be held in Italian, with simultaneous interpretation for the English-language keynote.
