The study on Impact Investment for the Social and Green Economy in the MENA region, led by Diesis Network experts Gianluca Pastorelli, Samuel Barco, and Artur Bala, aims to support DG NEAR in identifying opportunities for impact investing vehicles to assist the green and social economies in Southern Mediterranean countries (2021–2027).
It maps active market actors, analyses market preparedness, and examines interests of local and international investors, with a focus on post-incubation and post-acceleration companies. The study provides actionable recommendations for EU support of impact investing initiatives. It contributes to the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood agenda for a green, digital, resilient, and inclusive recovery aligned with the European Green Deal, the Paris Agreement, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly benefiting youth.
