Michela Vogrig is member of presidency and head of the international project area of Legacoopsociali from 2015, and also Regional Vice president of Legacoopsociali Friuli Venezia Giulia since 2009, with a specific commitment for the growth of social enterprises in her region. She started her experience in social cooperation in 1997, more specifically in the Mental Health sector, where she was appointed for supporting the deinstitutionalisation process of the Asylum in Italy. In 2007 she became President of COSM, Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s most prominent consortium that includes 17 important social cooperatives and social enterprises working at regional and national level. Afterwords she has been working in the field of social inclusion and community development, by fostering innovative actions dedicated to social and labour inclusion of disadvantaged people and creation of networks for community based services.
In her 20 years’ experience, she engaged herself to support the role, too often underestimated, that social enterprises play and could play on generating solutions to social problems using business models that guarantee economic and social sustainability. Hence it follows her strong interest for international cooperation and for supporting processes to empower local communities as an active subject in the social entrepreneurship development cycle.
