The baSE project is hosting its second Policy Lab in Brussels, building on the results achieved so far to reflect on how training solutions can be strengthened, scaled, and embedded into broader skills curricula and policy ecosystems.
The session is designed for policymakers, practitioners, training providers, and social economy networks interested in skills development, capacity building, and the future of work in the social economy.
About the Policy Lab
Across Europe, the social economy is a growing driver of inclusive jobs, fair work, and democratic participation, yet the sector still faces persistent skills gaps and uneven access to relevant training. baSE has spent the past years developing competence-based curricula, MOOCs, and a training catalogue tailored to social economy organisations, and piloting them on the ground with partners across several countries. The Policy Lab brings those experiences into dialogue with EU and national-level policy, asking what is needed to replicate, scale, and sustain skills solutions for the sector.
What to expect
The Policy Lab opens with an overview of baSE’s vision, training tools, and pilot findings, followed by a practice spotlight from Belgium. The core of the afternoon is a World Café session, where participants will validate and refine a set of draft EU-level policy recommendations addressing the enabling conditions for skills development in the social economy. It closes with shared takeaways and next steps.
