The digital future of the social economy rests on two essential pillars: organisations equipped to harness data and digital technologies, and people with the skills and competences to use them effectively.
Over the past years, two flagship EU initiatives have been helping to drive this transformation. DO Impact empowered social economy organisations and SMEs across Europe to leverage digital, data and AI capabilities, unlocking new opportunities to strengthen their resilience and scale their impact. In parallel, baSE developed the skills, competences and learning pathways needed to prepare the social economy workforce for the twin digital and green transitions.
This year, Diesis Network’s Annual Gathering will host the grand finale of both initiatives, bringing together the communities that have helped shape their journey and impact. From 7 to 9 July, participants will engage in conferences, workshops and policy roundtables to showcase results, exchange experiences, and discuss what comes next for the social economy.
Together, these three days will provide an opportunity to reflect on achievements, celebrate collaboration across Europe, and explore how the social economy can continue leading the digital and green transitions in the years ahead.

“Reimagining the Digital Future: Inclusive Innovation Beyond Technology Power Brokers” & “Forward Planning with Data: Opportunities and Synergies”
Social economy enabling organisations are invited to join the DO Impact project’s Final Conference and 8th Transnational Workshop, a two-day event exploring how data-driven approaches and digital transformation can strengthen the European social economy.
On 7 July, the Final Conference “Reimagining the Digital Future: Inclusive Innovation Beyond Technology Power Brokers” will focus on the role of the social economy in reshaping innovation beyond the logic of platform capitalism. 9 July | baSE Final Event
“Strengthening Skills for the Social Economy: From Blueprint to Action”
Launched in 2022, the Blueprint for Social Economy and Proximity Skills & Advanced Trainings Schemes Adaptable to Diverse Social Economy Ecosystems in Europe (baSE) set out to address skills gaps and anticipate future competences needed across the social economy and proximity sectors. After four years of collaboration, research, testing and capacity building, the project now reaches its conclusion.
The final event, “Strengthening Skills for the Social Economy: From Blueprint to Action”, will mark the culmination of this collective effort. Held in a hybrid format and livestreamed from Brussels, the conference will present the project’s key results, resources and recommendations, while engaging participants in hands-on discussions on how to sustain and scale its outcomes beyond the project’s lifetime.
The event will bring together young people, VET learners and students, trainers and education providers, universities, social economy practitioners and networks, industry representatives, policymakers, project partners and other stakeholders committed to strengthening skills for the future of the social economy.
